Overview

ScaleUp Global was a new venture with an ambitious goal: to create a digital platform that made it easier for companies to scale. The vision was to bring together founders, mentors, investors, and resources in one place, helping growing businesses access the support and connections they needed to accelerate their growth.

My role was to design an intuitive platform experience that simplified how users discovered opportunities, connected with the right people, and accessed the guidance required to scale successfully. The focus was on creating a clear, user-friendly interface that made complex networks and resources easy to navigate.

The Challenge

  • Founders struggled to find the right support, mentors, and resources needed to scale their businesses
  • Valuable opportunities such as programmes, investment connections, and expert guidance were fragmented across different channels
  • Navigating complex business support networks made it difficult for companies to know where to start or who to connect with
  • As a new platform, ScaleUp Global needed a clear, intuitive product experience that could support multiple user types including founders, mentors, and investors

The Solution

We approached the challenge by designing the platform from the ground up using a user-centred product design process. Through founder interviews, journey mapping, and iterative prototyping, we focused on creating a platform that simplified how companies discover support, connect with the right people, and access the resources needed to scale.

The solution focused on three key principles:

Beyond the metrics, user engagement was exceptional. Over 80% of users completed signup on their first visit, and 99% completed their full profile, demonstrating how intuitive the onboarding and profile experience was.The streamlined user journeys and simple interface also resulted in the lowest customer support enquiries the organisation had ever seen, with no UX-related issues reported.
